Well I think you need to get out a bit more. I've come across many skilled developers who find C# less than natural. Take any Ruby, Python, or Smalltalk programmer for instance, or VFP.
Its a personal preference but I would really like a dynamic language in .Net.

>Seriously, that's one of those points I've tried to mention several times. I've not heard from a single skilled developer that they didn't find c# to just be a little more natural when coding. There's something about it that just makes sense.

>I know it's difficult for some here to accept, but the majority of programmers just don't like the way foxpro works.

>>It is infinately better than MM.Net - orders of magnitude better. I share Scott's view - I downloaded MM.Net and after Codemine, I kind of wondered "where is the framework?". It just doesn't seem to do anything. Everything you do has to be hand coded. There are very few widgets/gadgets. There is little or no intelligence in the interface. After all the years it has been around, it has only now just got a business object builder! The BO builder doesn't even produce a strongly typed BO. StrataFrame has a terrific BO builder that produces strongly typed BOs and very soon, it will provided many-to-many BO mapping - I am discussing the implementation with SF right now. It has superb controls and gadgets, builders, browse dialog builders and so forth. I also know that they are producing a raft of new "gadgets" that I cannot say too much about but suffice to say, it will be very exciting indeed.

>>I can tell you Mike, I don't consider myself "behind the door" with frameworks but I just didn't "get" MM.Net. However, I started using StrataFrame and thought, yes, this is what it should be like <s>. So, take my advice and don't buy on price. You will invest too much time in learning any framework to worry about a few hundred dollars. I was working with SF today and I was totally blown away with the kind of stuff I was able to achieve - I may have said this before but I will say it again; I am definately at the same point or further on that I was with Codemine in terms of RAD. I am really starting to produce top quality C#.Net Winforms applications very quickly indeed and everyone that sees them is highly impressed with the look, feel and responsiveness.

>>I also got my ActiPro UI Studio V2 upgrade today - with this stuff and SF, its like I am armed with secret weapons <bg>. Its so far and away better than coding in VFP - I am even starting to like ADO.Net 2 ;)
