I think you're the one who needs to get outside a bit more. I don't spend my life searching out geek meetings to find all these various programmers you've talked to.
I have a small set of requirements. The language has to be able to accomplish the type of programs I'm good at creating. And knowledge in the language needs to make me easily employable.
I don't know if you attend, but there are several dotnet user groups in the area. I've attended the meeting at UCLA the last several months. Their meetings are typically sponsered by a recruiter. Something I never witnessed with foxpro.
The last couple meetings a recruiter stood up to give a little speech. They are short c# programmers. The last recruiter listed 2 skills they are short of, project managers and c#.
All my questions have been answered at that point.
>Well I think you need to get out a bit more. I've come across many skilled developers who find C# less than natural. Take any Ruby, Python, or Smalltalk programmer for instance, or VFP.
>Its a personal preference but I would really like a dynamic language in .Net.
