I would disagree. In fact, I believe that history will judge Bush to be one of the better presidents. Certainly one of the most controversial. Don't get me wrong, I disagree with plenty that both Bush and the Republican Congress has done. But Clinton was a farce, playacting at leading the country when in fact he wasn't accomplishing much at all. People remember him with the warm-and-fuzzies because the economy was strong and we were not at war. But the economy started to tank on his watch, and actions (or inactions) he was responsible for led directly to 9/11.

Most of the people we will see running for office in the next several years will be vets. The fact that several are running as Democrats means nothing to me. What are their platforms? Is it an anti-war one? That is the more important issue.
