>See Ryan's post. However, I would say that using that for the DE wouldn't always apply. In some respects it would be like using the ODBC driver to connect from VFP to VFP tables.

Let me clarify by saying that, while I did see the DE Tool in use in VB and I believe VJ++ to create DE objects, I am not entirely sure if the presenters said these objects could be compiled into ADO/COM objects that could be then used by other COM consumers like VFP. Since so much of VB is COM, though, I don't see any reason why these objects couldn't be exposed as COM. I don't know if these objects can be directly created in VFP.
What the VS DE tool did look like, though, at least in conjunction with VB, was that by creating a DE object, ADO support (properties, methods, etc.) comes for free. For example, after a DE object was created, it looked like it automatically had support for the MoveNext and other ADO methods, because they popped up in Intellisense.
If I'm wrong in any of this, someone please reply to this message. I don't want to spread inaccurate information but would like to share my observations.
I, too, like the Red Sox (or any team from Boston). I was fortunate enough to work with Adam Oates at a firm he worked for in the off-season (I guess in preparation for life after hockey) and go to a birthday party he threw for himself at his house. Got to meet Cam Neely there. Pretty cool stuff, especially since I played hockey through high school. It's neat meeting famous people you look up to while growing up.
