>>The gov't haven't bothered or hindered me at all. I have a job I like. I just recently started my own software business. I can do virtually anything I want. Go anywhere I want and practically say anything I want. So yeah, the US gov't has been good to me.

>And all of that is because we have civil liberties and previous generations have fought for them. I'm guessing from your name that you or your parents were born somewhere in Asia and perhaps your skin is darker than someone of European origin. It's not that long ago that those factors would have meant that you couldn't go anywhere you want. The government (especially the courts, which conservatives love to malign) has played in big role in reducing (I don't think we can say eliminating yet) roadblocks for non-whites, non-Christians, non-men, and others.

I don't disgree with your statement. And you're not stating anything I/we don't already appreciate. I know that millions of brave men and women have die and suffered for this country.

Only when they make up their only rules and legislate from the bench. Isn't that what congress is for?
The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.
- Alexis de Tocqueville

No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.
– Mark Twain (1866)
