Never heard of it. But from msconfig you could see the path to EXE and if this path doesn't sound familiar you could go to there and see the properties of EXE. If the darkness continues just rename it and move it to other folder, reboot and see what happeens, if some application stops so that EXE is for it. If everyhing is OK check if that exe miracly is created, if so Virus found :-), if not just works for some days before delete it.
