What's your example. If were taking pure military victory or military defense high tech wins. If you're taking about occupation (or nation building) that certainly takes a lot of bodies, or effectively convincing the conquered nation that you are the good guys.

Sure Chinese made, but it is an HP, so all of the R&D is done in the US. The US innovates, asia copies and builds. I think Japan would be the only nation that is doing true orginal innovation (vs copying and tweaking).
