>First, Milind took over Ken's position, according to Ken. I don't think Ken's confused, even if the position changed names (and the Product Manager title was eliminated).

No, he did not take over Ken's position. He took on some of Ken's responsibilities.

>Second, in his communications to me, Ken indicated that IronPython was only a research project, which was true at the time. Given their hiring to port other dynamic languages, and the additional hires that have already been added to the IronPython Project prior to this time, that status is functionally changed, if not in name or budget category.

>Third, how would you suggest that those who think this would be a good thing communicate, if not in writing? Spam is by definition uninvited: Milind indicated that feedback to him is invited.

Yes, he did...but it would be better to give him suggestions for things that have a possibility of happening. For example, added functionality in NET4COM to read/write the Windows event log.

>Fourth, Microsoft's attitude toward dynamic languages has changed (as has that of the larger software development community: viz. Bruck Eckel, author of Thinking with Java (4th Ed.), on his blog: "My guess is that Python allows me to think more clearly about the concepts of the problem that I'm trying to solve.").

I've never said that the idea of a dynamic language in .Net is bad. It won't be VFP.
