Dan,

>India has the bomb. Nobody wanted them to have it, but they made one anyway. Pakistan has the bomb. Nobody wanted them to build one either. So far they've threatened each other with them, which is scary, but by engaging at least one side in dialog hopefully we can get a little leverage to keep the bombs in their holes. It may not work, the treaty may be fatally flawed, but it is better than nothing.

>Iran does NOT need nuclear power.

They have a policy of supporting terror organizations

Ehh, can you back this up? The last time the US said that iraq was supporting fundamentalistic terrorists, but it appeared not to be present but rised when the US invaded iraq. I never saw any convincing evidence IRAN is supporting terrorists.

>have declared war on us at least once (although nobody took them seriously)

When?

>fought a bloody war with Iraq, and have publicly called for the destruction of another country.

How many times did the US do this in the past century ?

>They are a threat, particularly to their neighbors.

I don't see that at all. The hatred is aimed to the western world, not their fellow muslims.

>They should not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. There is no justification in the world for their nuclear program.

You're absolutely right in that. They have enough oil to outlast any western country. From an energy POV there is no justification.
