>>>I liked BNL initially, until a Toronto lady I knew explained to me that they were completely over there barely after they started. She said Toronto music fans had already discarded them. And I listened to them again and could see what she meant.

>>I don't get that really. Why does it matter that they were "completely over?" If you like them, you like them. No? I don't care a whit if everyone else thinks they are passe, just what I like to listen to.

>Not to mention that the lady was wrong anyway.
>They were quiet for a while, doing other things.
>They became more visible recently. And no matter how I slice it, they have interesting lyrics and a unique musical style (says me, who basically stopped listening after the Beatles and can hardly tell the difference between guitar, ukelele, banjo, violin, etc).

>By the way, they started at the heighth of the politically correct movement here in Toronto. Schedule for a New Year's Eve concert at City Hall, they were cancelled at the last minute because their name might offend. TRUE!!!

Never heard that. I believe there is a place for sensitivity, but the whole political correctness thing has gone way overboard. Just look at the crap we had for the Superbowl halftime. And I actually mostly like The Stones, but that show was pathetic.
