http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9304805The reason these cases get so much publicity is that they are the VERY RARE exceptions to the rule. And I do say GOOD FOR THEM. It's a sacrifice of huge proportions compared to the average Joe and they deserve esteem for doing it.
BUT keep in mind that it is in the establishment's interest to publicize cases like this, just as it is to pedestalize the rare person who hits it big with a startup business. Keeps the dream alive despite the entire system being built to squash the dream.
