Not to mention the fact that she has to live and sleep with another man (possibly very traumatic for both of them - marriages are ruined by infidelity) before she can get back with her "real" husband, that is IF the new one will release her.

Well there's your answer. If you're in your right mind you choose to stay in the religion cos you know the consequences of leaving it. Talk about Catch-22!
