>I stopped using it when I sold it to a friend because I needed the $ at the time. Overall I was pretty happy with it (very stable, lots of cool goodies) - but it was only a 1.0gz machine so it was kinda slow for what I wanted to use it for. The thing was super light-weight and with the pen, the handwriting recognition in it was increadable. (anything that can read MY handwriting is awsome...hahaha)
>Since then I've read some comaprison reviews and I recall that there were better ones out there.....my only real complaint was the 1.0gz. Was able to run the thing for like 5 or 6 hours on the battery though.....

My sister's boyfriend has that particular model. I tried it a while ago and it did work only with the pen. Nothing happened when I touched the screen with my finger.

I just called him just to be sure and he told me that effectively it only worked with the pen. Perhaps there's a setting to make it really work like a touchscreen. Do you recall such a setting necessary to make it work that way?

But like you say the speed could be a problem depending on what has to be done with it.
