I work for a large agency that has a good deal of enterprise level work. They do tend to like java / DB2 . I work in a small section of Foxpro developers. We will probably be switching to .Net at some point. I’ve already completed some independent projects in VB .Net. I would caution anyone moving into Java, If your job doesn’t get directly outsourced to India or China then you’ll probably be replaced by some carrying H1B visa that will work for ½ - ¾ of your wage( that’s if we haven’t hired them all). They don’t seem to be moving into .Net as rapidly.
