If you are so concerned about the state of Iraqi children, then why are you sure that what we did there was the right thing. It's getting more obivous by the day that the purpose for the Iraqi invasion had nothing to do with 9-11. That is was a forgone conclusion that some felt Iraq needed to be invaded so a democracy could be established in the region.

To say that strategy has been a dismal failure is a gross understatement. And from stories coming out of the region, there are more deaths and far more instability in the Iraqi citizens lives now then ever before.

The list of ex-military commanders calling for Rumsfeld's resignation is growing everyday.

>You mean, sort of like what happened with Iraq? Like the multiple UN resolutions Saddam thumbed his nose at? And many years of blockading and sanctions and negotiations that resulted only in additional hurt for the average Iraqi citizen -- including children starving? And the many years of kicking out weapons inspectors? And what happens when oil is used by that country as bribery to prevent the other world leaders that should have stood up to him -- for more than a decade -- from doing the "right thing?" More sitting and doing of nothing?

>Yeah, we EXPERIENCED everything you claim we needed to and saw firsthand that the path the world was on with regard to Iraq and Saddam wasn't working. The only thing I can see that was "assumed" is how continuing to *talk* blue streaks without actually... finally *doing* something would have somehow magically begun working. Just like how *doing* virtually nothing after the WTC was bombed the first time in '93 resulted in... oh, yeah... OOOOOPPPPSSSS.

>>But that's something that has to be EXPERIENCED, not assumed. Especially after the WMD debacle.
>>When talk after talk after talk after talk after talk... have happened and there seems no resolution, then the "traditional" countermeasure of blockade, boycott, blacklist and belittle comes next.
>>*IF* that should result in some injury (i.e. attack) on one/some of the blockaders BY the blockaded, then measures like bombing can be contemplated.
