I'm positive we did the right thing... no question in my mind. We (and I mean "the coalition" we) gave them a legitimate opportunity at freedom. What they do with it and where it takes them and how long it takes them to do it is anyone's SWAG, but at least they now have the opportunity. I can't speak for them personally, but I have a feeling there are many countries that would love to have a similar chance to extricate themselves from underneath their own Saddam-like oppressor.

When it comes to Saddam I say, "Nine-eleven, schmine-eleven." Apples and oranges as far as I'm concerned. I don't even care if he had no ties whatever to that day. Saddam is one of a handful of truly evil men of the past 50 years. Just for gassing his own people -- something I seem to remember was called "ethnic cleansing" when Milosevic did it in the 90s -- he should have been removed. And shame on the world for taking oil bribes and looking the other way for 11 years while Saddam systematically raped his country.
