>But I never said we should impose democracy on everyone as John suggested. There are many ways to influence the spread of democracy without invasion.

>You're saying that invasion does not involve imposition because you can spread democracy without invasion?

>That's like saying my car is not silver because there are other color options out there. It also smacks a big hole in the justification for invasion.

Are you purposly misreading what I've written?

This is what I wrote : "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are what matter. To that end freedom, democracy and civil rights must be striven for and achieved for there to be any lasting peace in this world."

You then claimed that I said we should impose our beliefs on people. I countered that I never said "impose" I said to "strive for". I believe the world will not be at peace until all people are free. In order for that to happen the free people of the world must seek to influence change.

Iraq is a seperate issue. It is an extension of the war on terror. We did not invade Iraq simply to "impose" democracy. There were a myriad of reasons, some true some not, for overthrowing Saddam.
