>Just for the record, could you go through that again? I'm a little confused by the tenses. The commission is 'about to appoint' vs the unseated democrat 'took the seat at the first opportunity'. I assume maybe it's two different things, but I have to admit, I'm a bit lost.

Well, it's a little confusing, even to me. She got seated "provisionally" but we were able to prove there were enough problems with the votes (dead people), felons, people registered at vacant lots, etc. Our senate voted to remove her last Thursday. My guy had the votes to be seated, but he was magnanimus, and turned it down. They will face each other again in November.

On another note, I reworded the song "Walking in Memphis" and titled it "Voting in Memphis" and sent it to the local talk radio guy. He just happens to be friends with Paul Shanklin (the guy who does Rush Limbaugh's parodies). Yep, he did a parody and it is playing on my www.votinginmemphis.com now. It was also played on the local radio show several times today.<g>
