Hi,
Check how much rubbish is in the temp folder, if more than 100 files & directories delete them.
Also clear the prefetch, Start/Run type in prefetch then ok, then select all and delete.
Empty the recycle bin then Restart the workstation.
Then see if it makes any difference.

One other question, is the DNS & DHCP setup properly on the server.
