I'm really interested in finding a solution that does not change the appearance of the grid whatsoever. As it stands 99.999999% of the values entered into the grid will fit in a column sized as is the "Base" column. So, rather than change all the column sizes which would then change the width of the grid (or make necessary a horizontal scroll to reach the right hand values) I would REALLY like to be able to have foxpro allow for the input of more characters than a column can actually display. In my company a slight change in the appearance of the grid will cause chaos.

The country code column could be made smaller, however it would not give up enough width for it to make a difference.

The * columns are important and cannot change. They are used and need to be displayed.

I REALLY appreciate your help but I am seeking a solution that would allow me to enter more characters into a grid field than can be displayed. Since this is only going to happen once in a blue moon it is perfectly acceptable.
