Hi Alex
Long time no speak! Hope you are well?
>I decided three years years ago that I was not going to continue with .NET after taking a stab at it, but I am not stupid enough not to think that MS will get it right eventually (they say it's usually in version 3).
.NET is great in V2 so I imagine V3 will be brilliant <s>.
>The StrataFrame approach seems interesting. From your description their approach is an application generator with source code, so you understand it better. Is that correct?
No, that is incorrect. StrataFrame is a framework, not unlike Codemine. It has many gadgets and gizmos that hook into VS2005 but, you have form classes, control classes, business objects, a data layer etc.,
It is very data-centric in its approach. You drop a control on a form, you select the binding field and you are done. It is very RAD and for a new framework, it is rich and maturing nicely. It also has a very easy learning curve (as does Codemine) and the support is excellent.
If you are interested in StrataFrame, I would be happy to give you more information and or/assistance with it, should you get a copy in the future.
Best
