I have read several of the threads recently on VFP vs .net. And of course it is easy to see which side people take. But I continue to wonder why does it always comes down to VFP or .Net! When I check monster.com and other job sites I see that companies want Java programmers. Almost 3 to 1 over .Net! (I'm in Calif) I continue to see Linux gaining on MS. I see how excited others (not me) get about Ajax and Ruby on Rails.
This leads me to wonder why most of the discussions center on .Net? It is true we are losing VFP but why does everyone assume .Net is the only way to go. I never see anyone discuss other alternatives.
