>I love the double-decker Go trains. We couldn't have them in the UK cos our rail infrastructure was laid down long-long ago, by itinerant dinosaurs, and there are so many wee tunnels that the trains need to go through.
GO Transit recently announced that they are buying lots of double-decker busses, even as London said bye-bye to theirs. These look like 'liners', very big and sleek and fancy.
Early in my business life I worked in the "High Wide Load" department at CN in Montreal. I was amazed even then at how big loads could be before they were brought to our attention.
Our biggest challenges (but I was only in that dept for 6 months) were:
1) making sure certain sidings were clear of rail cars
2) arranging temporary displacement of overhead wires.
