Not your fault :-))

And you are right, the agent knew fully well what he was selling.

Talked to a very nice guy, local hotel owner who gave me an address in an area up north and mostly frequented by turkish people. You see, that's another thing - when I go abroad I like to meet the natives.

When I asked for turkish coffee at our hotel the, the waiter - who had a great sense of humor - said "But sir, you are not in Turkey - you are in Denmark".

And he wasn't so far off the mark either. All in all it wasn't a bad holiday, it just wasn't quite what I had expected.

>Oh sorry to hear that. Side is nice but certainly not a 'quiet fishing village'. They might take you to hundreths of quiet (resting with highly natural beauty) places but Side is not one of them. I think it's agent's fault because I believe they knew Side very well.
>September is the best time I think to visit coastal places in Turkey. In summer time northern coast is much better (cool and lovely forest/sea).

>>It was a nice holiday all things considered, but Side is a bit of a nightmare. The travel agent had sold the trip as "quiet fishingvillage", which of course is a joke. It might have been that at the beginning of the previous century, but now?

>>Took some trips - to the market in Manavgat among others. The people are extremly friendly and helpful. It was hot though, I don't think I'll be going again in august - and not to Side, anyway I liked Istambul better.
>>
>>Have a nice summer
