thanks dragan - will check. however, i'm just checking that you don't mean sys(2019). the 2017 is record checksum values, which (based on my limited knowledge) doesn't apply to the config file.

edit - i am not getting any response from the sys(2019). however, I have a config.fpw file saved in the directory of the application. not sure why sys(2019) doesn't give me anything.

the information in the config file is:

title = Tasks
tmpfiles = c:\foxpro\temp
editwork = c:\foxpro\temp
sortwork = c:\foxpro\temp
progwork = c:\foxpro\temp

now, i'm working from home now but don't think that i've created the c:\foxpro\temp folder on my work computer. could this be the problem?
