I don't know if, and very mnuch doubt that, His words WERE recorded verbatim, esp. given the long time delay between utterance and pen. I accept Jesus to have been a very clever, passionate, loving, caring, etc., etc. superlatives, man, with some very interesting, intelligent, sensible things to say to guide us through life (Let's face it - back then life was cheap and people were running each other through or crucifying each other over a whim).

What is the John 14:6 passage? I haven't a bible to hand like you (OTOH I don't need to consult one, or to go and see "the elders" to make decisions on my life)
