I was a fundamentalist once, when the company we created strayed away from "the best team in town" to "four families' business" concept, my cofounder and I left and created a new one based on the original guiding principle, and I think for a while we were the best team in town. That is, until I moved here :).
But IMO that's the definition of fundamentalism - to discard the latter half of history and stick to the perceived original (set of) principle(s).
Though I think many of today's fundamentalists (religious and others) would have a very hard time reconciling their views with those of the actual founders.
