Well the only problem with having your own naming conventions is they don't mean much to someone not familiar with them looking at your code. Whereas if people all used to reccomended conventions there would be no confusions.

I just find it much easier to deal with rewriting a system that used standard naming conventions. It's reminiscent of a Scientific American article I read on software engineering. They noted one of the main reasons software engineering has such a high failure rate compared to physical engineering is the lack of standardised tools, parts and definitions.

It won't make any difference to your program working of course, but I think it's a good habit to get into....
