My suggestion for (99%) safe air travel after 9/11 was that the passengers take off all clothes, X-Rayed, then dress in airline-provided robes with the nice logos "Fly Air Whatever". All luggage is sent by the cargo plane right behind the passenger plane. :)
However, it may not work if the somebody drinks the nitroglycerine before the flight and then just suddenly jumps in the plane. :)))
