If someone's girlfriend is thus described, it suggestes he could do better, lets's put it that way :-(

>I have heard the term ‘a bit of a boot” from English and Irish in my family and friends. I take it to mean a light hearted joke, a slight kick in the seat of the pants, or just something of humor. What is the meaning that you know?

>
>>I don't know about a US equivalent, but you've been in the army - do you regard a boot as a thing of beauty? :-)
>>
>>>What is a 'bit of a boot?' Is there an equivalent phrase on this side of the pond? Or is it a guy thing? :o)
>>>
>>>
>>>>My last post didn't; it more or less said "I respect your new wife - but your old girlfriend was a bit of a boot" :-)
>>>>
>>>>>Car's like wives for men. Don't make jokes a man's car Terry... :))
>>>>>
>>>>>>Hi Vlad
>>>>>>
>>>>>>Yes, I said "used to". Nowadays they are quite respected - and very high spec for the price. Many of the taxis in my city are Octavias.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>>Hi Terry,
>>>>>>>I have Skoda Octavia Elegance - 2003.
>>>>>>>When i open the cover on all details is writtenVW.
>>>>>>>Where is difference between VW and Skoda ? ;o). But Skoda is cheaper.
