I saw the effects of Vietnam. I'm at the age where I wasn't drafted, but I was in college when vets started returning. Some of the most messed up people I've ever met in my life were vets who either attended my school or who I worked with right after graduating.

I only know I wouldn't wish having to live like that on anyone. And people shouldn't have to go thru experiences like that unless positively, absolutely, 100% necessary.

And Iraq is not the least bit necessary. Afghanistan was/is. But attempting to fight a worthless war in Iraq appears to have doomed any possibility of doing Afghanistan right.

>>>If/When we go to war with Iran, Kevin, I truly believe that people like you and me are going to be drafted.

>>One of my friends was like war films. He was a fan of Rambo. When he had called army he choiced being command. His commander asked his group "Does anybody other foolish want to being commando too?"

>>He fighted a few with PKK. Really a few. But when he came for break he said me "I'm scary, so scary. I want to finish army very quickly.."

>>I can't imagine a real war. You can asked "Thomas" our soldiers bravery. Think about it most bravery soldiers how much scary.

>I have friends who fought in Korea and told me of the bravery of the Turkish soldiers. My friends thought that there were no finer soldiers. They fought as individuals and as teams. My friends (army) also said they felt safer when they were with Turkish soldiers, especially while on night patrol .

>My dad was a Marine and was in the South Pacific during World War II. My dad and two of his buddies survived out of his company of 120 men. I remember those men, their names and their families and have not seen them since 1950.

>All became alcoholics, divorced and were devastated by war. The battle of Okinawa was the last battle they participated in. If you study just this one battle you would understand what happens to men in battle.

>I am a Vietnam vet. I cannot watch war movies about Vietnam. Ten years after I was honorably discharged I could sleep at night without dreams I will not describe. There is nothing beautiful about war except from those who are mentally ill.
