>Say a company buys my software and then they sell their business. The new owner will be a different name/corporation. Is it typical that the new owner has to buy a license? Or they are entitled to it? I know many will say, it depends on the agreement you had with the initial company. But if you didn't make a formal agreement, what are the typical choices?

You need to talk to a lawyer about it. I would think that if someone bought a company (thus, they would also get all the of the campany's assests) then they would be entitlted to it unless there was some stipulation in the software license agreement that prohibited it. Again....discuss it with a lawyer.
