My guess is MS realizes the power and simplicity of VFP and that IS WHY it is being marginalized.

You gotta look at this from a practical/business point of view.
Once MS convinces a business owner to run their systems they do not want a raging debate about which software tool to use.
Trash talk about each product begins ; that is not a good way to sell your product.

So VFP will continue to be promoted WITHIN the VFP community and nowhere else.
VB will be promoted outside in the "world at large".
this minimizes any debates/(trash talk) about which product is the "best enterprise" database solution.

And i will keep churning out apps 5 times faster than a VB developer with 5 times my programming experience.
