Interesting. Thanks. I know what you mean about 'hard core fans only'. Some of his early stuff was not just hard to follow, but you had to follow it for very long periods. Reminds me of the time Miles got mad at him for going on and on and on in a solo. Miles yelled at him later about it and Coltrane said he just didn't know how to stop the flow. Miles suggested next time he try taking the sax out of his mouth.
