I see. The discussion prompting this thread was regarding McDonald's fries bought in Copenhagen, the statement being made that they were the same crispness/texture/flavour as those bought here.
That's when I jumped in with 'but fresh french fries cannot be crispy and "crispy fries" are an invention of the fast-food business" and other countered as I said in my original.

To me the frozen jobbies shouldn't be called "French fries' (or even freedom fries < s >) because they are not, and cannot be, the same as REAL (i.e. fresh cut/fried) "French fries". Kinda like calling every car a Corvette, in my opinion.
