I don't recall their entire roster in '03, but I believe they had pitchers Josh Beckett, Carl Pavano, and maybe Brad Penny, as well as Juan Pierre. They gradually lost those players after '03.

Their organization/ownership is pretty much the laughing stock of MLB. Their attendance is terrible, ever since the day Wayne Huizenga claimed massive financial losses after they won the world series in 1997 (which were really misleading....he reported team and stadium earnings separately). From that point, the fans stopped going to games.
