>I am using FPW2.6 on an NT LAN in the accounting branch of a small state agency here in Austin, Texas. Our PC's run Windows '95. I have been asked to write a program that copies individual reports from much larger files which are downloaded to us daily. I've already written the program and it works fine. It is a tremendous time- and paper-saver, since before I wrote it, we had to print the daily download even though 40-70% of the documents in each file never get used (they just get stored in case we ever need them, but so far, we haven't). Thought I'd mention this so you know how your state tax dollars are being wasted.

Ideally, users should be able to call up a listing of available reports (they can already do this using Windows Explorer), right-click on the desired file and click on Print, which would send a copy to their default printer. Unfortunately, when they do this now, the results differ from printer to printer and from user to user.

Are the downloaded reports in straight text or do they have printer contol codes imbedded in them? If so you want to parse the files and strip out any control codes.
