Novell does support long file names. In order to enable LFN support from Win 95 you need to load OS2 name space support on the Netware server.

I agree that 8.3 is a good idea, though. I once wrote a handy little batch file zip up a bunch of source code periodically using PKZip. It seemed like a good idea until we realized that many of the source files had long file names which were changed to 8.3 names by PKZip for DOS.

Consider making all filenames in the 8.3 format for any file that would be individually placed on such servers. Of course you can still provide and use longer, more descriptive, table names in the DBC. Forms, classes, and other files that would be compiled into an APP or EXE would have no problems having long filenames.
