But the deeper question to me is why does your system even get 'rogue IE windows' that "fall over".

I'm not a big user of the internet, but I've NEVER had an IE window "fall over". And my company's CRM is internet-based and up 99% of the time. I do have accasions where I have 5 or 6 IE windows open and have never had one "fall over" (which I interpret to mean needing Task Manager to 'close' it).
