Being from Illinois, have you ever played Euchre? It was big in Wisconsin when I was growing up in Portage. We had family reunions that had Euchre games going on at numerous tables (usually 5 or 6) - you rotated tables as you won (or was it when you lost?) It's been too many years - I haven't met anyone from the South who knows how to play unless they are transplanted yankees.

>>>Try Bridge. Tournaments usually allocate approximately 7 minutes per hand (25 hands per session) but "friendly" home games are typically faster.

>Here's the thing I never liked about bridge. If you follow the bidding conventions you're basically telling your partner (and of course everyone else) exactly what cards you have in your hand. What's the fun in that? I'm not interested in a game which consists of who can follow rules the best.
