I think I played it a couple of times. Is it the game with two decks of cards, or is that pinochle?

There is only one card game I truly love, and it isn't poker, the trendy game du jour. Hearts. Somewhere in my geek brain there must be a feel for it because I usually win. Not bragging, just saying. I suspect most people here are pretty good at hearts.

>Being from Illinois, have you ever played Euchre? It was big in Wisconsin when I was growing up in Portage. We had family reunions that had Euchre games going on at numerous tables (usually 5 or 6) - you rotated tables as you won (or was it when you lost?) It's been too many years - I haven't met anyone from the South who knows how to play unless they are transplanted yankees.

>>>Too deeply ingrained in two somewhat similar games from home - lorum and preferans - so I figure I'd have all the wrong reflexes and intuition. IOW, I'd suck :).

>>Here's the thing I never liked about bridge. If you follow the bidding conventions you're basically telling your partner (and of course everyone else) exactly what cards you have in your hand. What's the fun in that? I'm not interested in a game which consists of who can follow rules the best.
