Windows API functions
I suspect you're right. The comma has always worked fine in the past. Our system uses a 3COM digital switch (no modems) so it may be something unique in their software NBXTSP. (Or it could be coincidence that it is working now and it will fail me again in the future.)

>>I found it! I was constructing the number2dial as 8,xxx-xxxx. The 8 of course to get an outside line and the comma for a slight pause. It seems the comma was the problem. It works fine (at least for now) with the form 8xxx-xxxx. It seems the comma was forcing it into internet mode. I can't expound on the reasons for this (it may be unique to our switch) but at least it works.
