I'll just focus on the 1st column in my grid for now: the column's ControlSource is INVDTAIL.itemcode. Next I looked at the textbox's ControlSource - it too is set to INVDTAIL.itemcode.

Is VFP version 6 possibly my problem? I would upgrade, but only if I felt quite sure it would solve problems like this that I will likely encounter as I convert 2.x projects...
