>Has anyone heard of the North American Union (NAU) treaty that Bush signed with the leaders of Mexico and Canada back in March 2005? This may impact the market for database development to some degree. This is an economic union similar to the European Union (EU) in which the borders with Canada and Mexico will be taken away; I can't tell you all the impact this could have economically and otherwise, but it could be huge. This is called "Regionalization". Another word is "Globalization".

I have no clue myself.
But if it's anything like the Free Trade Agreement, it means that THINGS get through real easy and people have a HARDER time crossing than ever before.
I understand (could easily be wrong) that EU member countries allow their citizens to cross freely between countries and to work in those countries with minimum hassle. It doesn't even come close to anything like that here, and I can't ever see it becoming so.
My bet: great for business, crap for people. And soon there'll be little trade between Canada and the U.S. anyway, China being where THINGS will more and more be coming from. To both the U.S. and Canada.
