thanks for responding. The detail lines are complicated. I am running fields on the detail line. It is not one formatted data string that is dumped to the stub area. There are also calls to vfp procedures in my business logic from the report. There are 4 check stub formats: PO, taxes, misc, services so there are also conditionals in may fields that print only for certain formats. The totals on the check are stored in table fields because the check prints first (with totals) then the detail. The totals on the stub are accumulated as detail prints.
