>For some time I have heard the term “Hero”, used for any member of the United States military killed in Iraq. Such distinction!

>I thought that people like Audie Murphy and Neville Brand were American war heroes? What is a hero? The meaning of a word changes with time. Most recently the most conservative media shows have been using the term “Hero”, for anyone who has served in Iraq.

You served in the military and I didn't so who knows how much my opinion is worth. But I agree with that use of the word, while recognizing your point. Anyone who goes to fight in a war, living in generally horrible circumstances even if they don't get killed or maimed, away from their families for extended periods, not knowing which footstep might be their last, is a hero in my book. Absolutely.
