For a larger company with a human resources specialist this may be practical, but not for a small firm where I also have to do a ton of other things.

Hmm, I didn't know there is a charge for trying to search for employees. After I posted my resume on Monster I'm occasionally getting inquires, so I know that some employers are using this site for looking up right candidates...
