Hi Ben. Thanks for your reply.
I did as you suggested and I am now able to read in the Excel file on my own PC and I can see the Chinese Cracters displayed fine.
The next thing I would like to to is to be able to export these into a VFP dbf file and use them for printing in a VFP APP.
I have saved the file in Excel , as both a CSV file and a Dbase IV FILE. When I read these files back into Excel:
The CSV file displays all the chinese characters as ????
The Dbf file displays the chinese charaacters as little boxes
Any idea on how to get round this ?
Regards,
Gerard

>You may install Windows Multilanguage pack CD disk 1 and select either Simplified (Mainland China) or Traditional (Taiwan & HK) Chinese. You may get the Multilanguage pack CD from MSDN download.

>If you don't have the Multilanguage pack CD, you may open the Control Panel and select Regional and Language Options. On the Language page, check "Install files for Ease Asian languages". If you are going to display or input Chinese in your VFP on the same machine, you must on the Advanced page select "Chinese..." in the Language for non-Unicode programs dropdown.
