I don't think we "need" to do it, it is just a flavour we got used to, so there you go. And to say the truth, in my case, I rarely have any "soy meat", but have tried it sometimes, and it is good.
By the way, I haven't stopped eating meat because I don't like it, it was just a decision I decided to make.
