>I agree that for creationists, it's a moral issue, but I disagree about Darwinians. Humanity has been around now for a long time, and homosexuality doesn't seem to be going away. The only thing that's kept it marginalized is the attitude perpetuated by religious concepts. Apparently too, humans are not the only creatures that contain an element of homosexuality (monkeys and dolphins for example - and both of those species been around a long time too).

OTOH we can't be sure that homosexuality isn't exactly what evolution uses against overpopulation.

It could also be far more widespread than we thought - with major religions being so strictly against it, there are no numbers we can trust. It would be interesting, though, to compare the percentage of gays in correlation with social mores. I would assume there may be more of them where getting married requires a lot of money (because the bride needs to be bought off), or that there will be more of them in a dozen years from now in the areas where they are aborting daughters.
